Cayman Compass: Dart donates official codebooks to assist aspiring electricians

Dart has donated the official textbook of the National Electrical Code to the next class of electricians who must study the code to sit the Cayman Islands Government Electrical Licensing Exam.



Duchess of Cornwall officially opens Jasmine Villa hospice

As part of Their Royal Highnesses’ visit to the Cayman Islands, The Duchess of Cornwall officially opened the new Jasmine Villa on Thursday March 28, 2019. Her Royal Highness was joined at the opening ceremony by Elisabeth Roper, wife of the Governor of the Cayman Islands, Joey Hew, Minister of Commerce, Planning and Infrastructure, and Chris Duggan, Jasmine Board Chairman and Vice President of Business Development at Dart.


Why Dart supports STEM education

Science, technology, engineering and math, commonly known as STEM, are at the heart of Dart Minds Inspired, a series of educational and community initiatives and sponsored events designed to inspire and engage Cayman’s youngest minds to excel. Dart’s focus on STEM is rooted in the Dart family’s belief that these subjects are fundamental building blocks for success in school and life.

This year, Dart partnered with Aureum Re, Caribbean Utilities Company (CUC), Digicel, and Health City Cayman to add new robotics programming to Minds Inspired’s ever-expanding schedule of annual events.


Dart leases Barefoot Beach

Dart has agreed to lease its property at Barefoot Beach in East End to a third-party tenant who has partnered with NCB Group for the planned development of a boutique eco-resort.

The third-party tenant approached Dart to lease the site for the construction of 89 low-rise, environmentally friendly cottages and onsite hotel amenities. The planning application was submitted on 14 March.

Towering shade trees, lush greenery, and a colourful array of flowering plants are a hallmark of several of the Dart group’s development projects.

As work continues on two new projects in the Camana Bay corridor, the green-thumbs at the Dart nursery are working to supply the considerable landscaping needs.


Cayman Compass: $3 million Public Beach plan includes ‘vendor village’

As part of the Third Amendment to the NRA Agreement, Dart is committed to making US$3 million worth of improvements to upgrade the recreational areas on the land behind Seven Mile Public Beach.

These upgrades will enhance the beach going experience for all users by introducing much-needed facilities such as a dedicated space for beach vendors, new sports areas, an additional bathroom block complete with ADA-compliant changing facilities, and additional shade trees.


Camana Bay Times: Dart launches grant programme for non-profits

Since 2012, Dart has donated approximately CI$5 million to local non-profit endeavours. This year, in an effort to maximise Dart’s positive impact on the local community, the company launched Dart Grants, a new programme of up to 15 fixed grants ranging from CI$10,000 to CI$50,000.

Dart Grants will support locally registered and based non-profit organisations with a focus on high-impact work in the areas of youth development, education or the environment.
