Joint statement by Dart and Rugby Club

Joint statement by Dart and Rugby Club

Almost 10 years ago, Dart and the Cayman Rugby Football Club began discussions about potentially relocating and expanding the Club’s facilities at a new location at the southern end of Camana Bay.

After more than three years of formal negotiations, Dart and the Rugby Club have been unable to achieve a mutually agreeable lease agreement; As a result, Dart has withdrawn its offer to the Rugby Club for a peppercorn lease of land at Camana Bay for the construction of new facilities.

While there are no active, alternate plans for the site, the master planning for Camana Bay is an ongoing, iterative process, and the town has evolved and grown greatly since discussions were first entered into with the Rugby Club some years ago. Dart remains committed to assisting the Rugby Club in its pursuit of an alternate location and those discussions are ongoing.

Dart believes sport has an important role to play in fostering community spirit and will continue to support the Rugby Club and similar organisations through donations and corporate sponsorship opportunities wherever possible.
