Kenneth B. Dart Foundation

Ken Dart is a believer in the old adage:

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

With this philosophy in mind, the Kenneth B. Dart Foundation provides economic support to community projects or initiatives in a way that allows them to become self-sustaining once established. In line with Dart's business endeavours in Cayman, the Foundation's mission is to promote economic growth and to enhance the quality of life for all those who live, work or invest in the Cayman Islands.

Established in 2015, the Kenneth B. Dart Foundation's primary focus is on health and education, especially programmes related to STEM subjects that have been core to Dart's success.

Founded in 1937 as Dart Manufacturing Company by Ken's grandfather William F. Dart, Dart Container Corporation was born in the 1950s when the company's experimentation with expandable polystyrene led to a line of high quality insulated foam cups.

Under the leadership of Ken's father, William A. Dart, the company expanded across the globe to include more than 40 locations in seven countries with about 15,000 employees worldwide. Ken Dart first joined the family business in 1979 as Vice President of Engineering.

He went on to become President and Director until, in 2014, he chose to resign his position to focus on his family office investments.
